Stitched with water repellent thread. Wipe with a damp cloth and let it dry naturally, away from direct heat. Over time the leather develops a soft patina.

Measure the chest at its widest point, just behind the front legs, and allow room for two fingers under the straps.

Shipping & Returns

Orders placed before 5 pm ship the same working day, orders with an engraved dog tag the next working day. Delivery usually takes 3 to 5 working days. Shipping is complimentary from €50. Below that, it is €7.50 within Europe and €25 elsewhere. Import duties or other local charges may apply, depending on your country.

Let us know within 14 days of receiving your order and send it back within 4 weeks. We email you a return label. The return costs of €10 are deducted from your refund. Prefer a different size or colour? Exchanges follow the same steps, without the return costs.

Every Laelaps harness is cut, stitched and finished by hand in our Portuguese atelier. We work with one leather and a few honest materials, and we take our time with each of them.
Leather

Premium embossed calf leather in two tones: one colour outside, a second one inside. Soft on the neck and strong enough for every walk.

Craft

Water repellent stitching and stainless steel hardware with a matte PVD finish, chosen to last for years.

Finish

Every edge is sealed by hand with gum arabic, the detail that sets fine leather goods apart.

A harness spreads the pressure over the chest instead of the neck, which makes it a comfortable choice for small breeds and dogs that pull. A collar is lighter and easy to wear all day. Both come in the same leather and colours, so you can always match them.
What size harness does my dog need? Plus

Measure the chest at its widest point, just behind the front legs. XXS fits 29 to 37 cm, XS 38 to 46 cm, S 47 to 54 cm, M 55 to 63 cm, L 64 to 72 cm, XL 73 to 81 cm and XXL 82 to 90 cm. How long does a leather harness last? Plus

With a little care, for years. Dry it after wet walks and wipe it with a damp cloth now and then. Over time the leather develops a soft patina.
Is a leather harness comfortable for my dog? Plus

Yes. Calf leather is soft, breathable and gentle on skin. The edges of every Laelaps harness are finished by hand with gum arabic, so there are no rough edges that could cause irritation. Make sure the harness fits well: you should be able to slide two fingers under every strap.
